More insurance at no extra cost
If you are a GuildSuper member with Automatic Death and Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) cover you now enjoy an increase in the amount of Death and Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) cover you hold. The best part is that the extra cover comes at no extra cost. These changes started on 1 July 2009, so click here to see how you are already benefiting.
Keeping in step with you as your needs change
As your life changes so do your insurance needs. GuildSuper makes it easy for you to secure a quick boost to your cover if the need arises. So if you marry, have a child or take on a mortgage on your first home you can apply for an extra unit of Death only or Death and TPD cover without providing any medical evidence.
You just have to make sure you apply for the increase within 60 days of the happy event. To apply for this cover complete an Insurance Alteration Form.
Income protection cover starts soon
If you currently hold Automatic Death and TPD cover, from 15 December 2009 you’ll benefit from Automatic Income Protection cover. Very competitive rates have been negotiated for this cover which provides a replacement income if you’re temporarily unable to work in your usual occupation due to sickness or injury. Insurance costs will be deducted from your account, with the ability to opt-out if you don’t need it.
The low down on GuildSuper’s Income Protection cover
If you are unable to work in your usual occupation due to an illness or injury, Income Protection cover can supplement up to 75% of your pre-disablement income, plus provide up to 10% of your pre-disablement income for super contributions.
As most people have access to some sick leave there is a waiting period before you can claim a payment. There is also a limit as to how long payments will continue. While GuildSuper’s standard Automatic Income Protection cover includes a 90 day waiting period and a two year payment period, you can always apply to reduce the waiting period and extend the payment period to suit your own family’s needs.
